James Green - Class Of 1983 VIEW PROFILE

James Green

Mr. James Harold Green came into this world on August 8, 1965 and passed on August 31, 2022.
Our community mourns the loss of a brother in Christ, father, husband, brother, uncle, cousin, political advocate, and one who enjoyed living to the fullest.
His parents Hal and Nannie (Maddox) Green preceded him in death. Also, preceding him in death were maternal grandparents Benjamin (Otha) Maddox, paternal grandparents, Emmett Green and Elvernia (Green) Van Lier.
He is survived by his wife Carla (Pfeifer) Green, daughters, Lauren and Halle Green, stepsons, Keith (KJ) Gantt and Cameronn Teague, step grandchildren, Harmony Gantt and Cameronn Teague Jr., AKA, (Little Lord Fauntleroy), sister Brenda (Henry) Giden, nephews, Lee and Andre (Sydney) Gill, maternal aunt Carrie Starr, and maternal uncle Benjamin Maddox.
Special mention to William Parchman, Robert (Yolanda) Bonds, Elijah (Renee) McPherson, Warren Dean Sr., Kenny (Jewel) Washington, and Danny Stallworth.
James was loved and respected by family members, god children, friends, and community members too numerous to mention.
James was born in South Bend, Indiana and although born on the west side, loved every side of town, and went to all reunions.
James was a classy guy. He loved family, grilling, cars, music, debating over issues, traveling, and staying fly. Partying and talking trash were his specialties. He was known affectionately as Green. He attended Colfax, Muessel, Brown elementaries, and graduated from LaSalle High School in 1983. He went to Indiana University Bloomington from 1983-1985. He was honored to be in Groups and The Soul Revue. December 8, 2021, he retired from AT&T after 34 years of service.
James was a 32-degree Mason of Prince Hall.
A Wake Service for Brother James will be held on Friday September 9, 2022 at 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. in the chapel of Alford s Mortuary Inc. 1222 Napier Street, South Bend, Indiana. An additional Viewing will be held on Saturday September 10, 2022 at 10 A.M at Pentecostal Cathedral C.O.G.I.C, 1025 Western Ave, South Bend, Indiana 46601. Services honoring the life, love, labor, and legacy of James will be held at 11 A.M. at the Cathedral. Burial will follow the services at Highland Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted with Alford s Mortuary Inc.

Ken Ogorek (1983)

James was known to be a pleasant guy--often smiling and quite well-liked.  Green--You are missed.  Rest in peace!
