Obituary for Gregory Lee Hogan in South Bend , Indiana

Mr. Gregory Lee Hogan, 60, of South Bend, Indiana earned his wings on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at Beacon Memorial Hospital – South Bend. He was born on July 10, 1961, to the union of the late Dallas Hogan and the late Marie Brown Hogan.

Gregory, affectionately known as Greg, received his formal education in the South Bend Community School Corporation and attended Colfax Elementary School. He graduated from the former LaSalle High School in 1979.  He was employed at Reith-Riley Construction Company for 31 years and took an early retirement from there in 2011. On April 20, 2019, he was united in Holy Matrimony to Norma “Lisa” Garcia.

Greg was deeply committed to his family and he would do anything for them. He really loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. The past times he enjoyed most included working in his yard, working on special projects in his garage, and working on older model cars until they became too computerized. He also enjoyed telling some long-tall “tales” of fishing.

He leaves to cherish his many fun and loving memories, his beautiful wife Norma “Lisa” Hogan; three children, Kristina (and her husband, Calvin) Greer and Johnee Garcia, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Juliana (and her husband, Michael) Reyes of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, Arianna Greer, Calvin Greer III, Sofia Reyes, Baylee Greer, and Isabella Reyes; six siblings, Janet M. Hogan, Joyce (and her husband, John) Glasco, and Timothy (and his wife, Whitney) Hogan all of South Bend; Robert of Southern Indiana and Anthony and Christopher Hogan both of Michigan City, Indiana. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts, and friends.

Along with his parents he was also preceded in death by one brother, John H. Page; one sister, Flora Gamble Moore and a special great nephew, Kam’Ron Royce Redding.

Greg was a man with a warm smile and a healthy, hearty laugh. When he laughed, you laughed because his hearty laughter was so infectious. He was kind and spoke to people in a way you knew he was sincere. He will be dearly missed by those who loved and knew him as well as by those whose life he impacted.

Sleep peacefully dear Greg and take your rest; although we all love you, God loves you best.
