Freddie L. Dixon

May 11, 1967 - Sept. 7, 2010
SOUTH BEND - Freddie L. Dixon, 43, of Royal Vista Terrace, South Bend, Indiana, entered into eternal peace early Tuesday morning, September 7, 2010. Fred was born in South Bend, Indiana, on May 11, 1967, to the union of Willie B. Sr. and Rebecca Dixon.

He received Christ at an early age at New Testament Missionary Baptist Church, later worshipping at Pentecostal Cathedral Church of God in Christ where he served on a number of committees. After finishing his work with Pentecostal, he then returned to his first church home at New Testament. Fred was a graduate of LaSalle High School where he received a number of state acknowledgments as a member of the wrestling team. After mastering his skills, he later began teaching the wrestling team at Dickinson Middle School. Fred was a very outgoing and talkative individual. In talking with Fred, you could learn any and everything you ever wanted to know because he was the "expert" on everything. His favorite topic was not only wrestling, but expressing his love for God.

Fred was previously in union with Cynthia K. Dixon (Johnson) in January 1990. A beautiful daughter, Diamond Lee Dixon, was born to them on September 16, 1992. In addition, Fred became a father to his two lovely stepdaughters, Darnisha S. Clark and Kania D. Warbington.

Fred was previously employed with VLS Insulation, Solvay Automotive, Reith and Riley and Glaval Automotive. He was also Founder and CEO of Wins Lawn Care Service. When he wasn't working, you could find him at a neighborhood garage sale, doing handyman work around the house or playing mechanic on a vehicle.

To celebrate his life, Fred leaves behind his loving daughter, Diamond; two stepdaughters, Darnisha and Kania, all of South Bend, Indiana; his mother and father, Willie and Rebecca of South Bend; three brothers, Willie Jr. "Mane" (Shauntae), William "Scooter" (Lora) and Dennis (Tanya); four sisters, Levon, Mary, Barbara "Bobby" and Michelle, all of South Bend, Indiana, with the exception of Scooter, who resides in Mesquite, Texas, and currently works for the U.S. Government in Iraq after retiring from the U.S. Army. Fred had two favorite cousins, who appeared to be brothers, Phillip Dixon and Jimmy "Bunny" Dodson Jr., both of South Bend. Fred also leaves behind two step-grandchildren, Tiyanah Weatherspoon and Justin Clark Jr., both of South Bend; along with many special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and a wonderful blended church family.

Fred was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William and Elizabeth Beasley; his paternal grandparents, John and Mary Dixon; and a sister deceased at birth, Barbara.
