Scott Allen “Mad Hatter” Harman

Scott Allen “Mad Hatter” Harman, 45, of Osceola , IN- loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle, passed away surrounded by his family, at 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2011 in his home, following a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on February 8, 1966 to Donald R. and Nedra C. (Jensen) Harman in South Bend , IN , and has lived in Osceola since 2003, coming from the South Bend/Mishawaka area.

Scott graduated from LaSalle High School in 1986 and was employed by AM General for the last 8 ½ years.

On November 22, 2005, he married Maryann (Modos) Parish in South Bend , IN.

He will be deeply missed. Scott is survived by his wife, Maryann Harman of Osceola, IN; parents, Donald and Nedra Harman of South Bend, IN; grandmother, Audrey Harman of Finley, OH; daughters, Ashley and Shelby Harman, both of South Bend, IN; step-son, Kyle Parish of Osceola, IN; two sisters, Jodie and Heather Harman, both of South Bend, IN; his father-in-law, Ernest Modos of Osceola, IN; three nieces, Jessica McCaffery, Samantha Jazayeri, and A’nya Brown; two nephews, Thomas and Darryl Brown; and one great-nephew, Rayllen McCaffery. Also surviving are his best friends who were like brothers to him, Carl, Wayne, and Rich; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

One nephew, Jeremiah Scott Harman-Brown preceded him in death.

Scott was an active member of ABATE of Indiana and The PACK of Indiana . He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, hanging out with his biker buddies, and attending all the biker rallies and festivities.

He also enjoyed cooking and grilling out / BBQing in his back yard, and baking and decorating cakes. Scott cherished spending time with his family and friends-he never knew a stranger. He loved life.

Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2011 and from 2 – 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, South Bend , IN. Cremation will follow.
