SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Bruce G. Bensley, 47, formerly of South Bend, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2008, in California. He was born February 11, 1961, in South Bend, IN.

Bruce is survived by his mother, Clara (Russell) Keehn; sisters, Gennevieve (Michael) Babbitt and Connie (Rick) Balmer; a brother, Terry (June) Bensley; stepmother, Elizabeth (Melvin) Friesen; stepsister, Sandra (Kevin) Bachman; a niece, Jammie Balmer; four nephews, Ryan and Brett Bensley, Richard and Timothy Balmer.

His father, Marion S. Bensley, preceded him in death.

Bruce graduated from LaSalle High School in 1979. He moved to Key West, FL, and studied underwater photography at Florida Atlantic University. Bruce motorcycled to California, settling in San Francisco. His most memorable travel was to Peru, where he fell in love with the people and the countryside. Bruce will be missed by his colleagues, friends and family. His family will deeply miss his laughter, witty humor and creativeness.

A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, April 19, 2008, in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN. Rev. Nathan Wills, CSC, and Rev. Melvin Friesen will officiate. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
