SOUTH BEND - Ronnie Coleman, 47, residing in South Bend, passed away at 6:25 pm Monday, February 18, 2013 in Hospice House, South Bend. He was born in South Bend on December 15, 1965 to the late Joseph Coleman and Annie L. Jackson, and remained a lifelong area resident.

On August 11, 2000 in South Bend, Ronnie married the former Wendy Damp, who survives. In addition to his wife, Wendy, of South Bend, he is survived by three daughters, Rashawnda Coleman of Detroit, MI, Arielle Coleman of South Bend, and Desiree' Mitchell of Junction City, KS; one son, Ronnie Coleman, Jr. of South Bend; and grandchildren, Zariyah Wiley and Brayah Winston. Additionally, Ronnie is survived by one sister, Linda A. (Terrance) Walker of Milwaukee, WI; and four brothers, Walter Jackson, Marvin Jackson, Dwight Jackson, and Donald Coleman, all of South Bend.

Ronnie graduated at the top of his class from LaSalle High School in 1984 and attended Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi. He earned his bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Ivy Tech in May 2012. Ronnie worked at Food Specialties, Tyler Refrigeration and the Ducomb Center prior to his illness.

Funeral services for Ronnie will be held at noon on Monday, February 25, 2013 in the Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Rev. Christopher Pittman will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 am until the time of services on Monday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Ronnie may be donated to an account for his son, Ronnie Jr., at any TCU bank.
