Amber M. DeJaegher

Amber M. DeJaegher Feb. 12, 1983 - Jan. 7, 2015 SOUTH BEND - Amber M. DeJaegher, 31, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2015 in Memorial Hospital South Bend. Amber was born on February 12, 1983 in South Bend.

She was a graduate of LaSalle High School in South Bend, Indiana. She also attended Indiana University South Bend where she studied Marine Biology. She spent most of her adult life caring for her grandmother Jennie, the woman who raised her. She had a deep love for animals and was devoted to her two cats, Dusty and Smokey and her loyal dog, Chewie. She also enjoyed horseback riding and spending time with her friends and family. Above all, she lived her life in dedication to her son Monroe whom she considered her best friend. He was the center of her world.

Amber is survived by a son, Monroe Bartels of South Bend, and her father, Douglas Dooley of Fort Wayne, IN. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sheryl DeJaegher, her grandmother, Jennie L. DeJaegher, her aunt "Dee Dee" DeJaegher, and her "niece" Emily DeJaegher. Amber worked at the University of Notre Dame and she was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.

A Memorial Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Peace Lutheran Church, 16791 Cleveland Road, Granger, IN with one hour of visitation prior to the services. Pastor Steven Mischke will officiate the services. Memorial contributions may be made to Peace Lutheran. Bubb Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
