Robert Duke

Robert Duke May 15, 1968 - Jan. 4, 2015 SOUTH BEND - Mr. Robert Joseph Duke, affectionately named "Red Bird", passed from this life at 7:36 p.m., Sunday, January 3, 2015 at Memorial Hospital. Mr. Duke, a resident of East Calvert Street, South Bend, Indiana was 46 years of age. Robert's life began on May 15, 1968 in South Bend, Indiana when he was born to Irene Neely and Robert Joseph Reynolds.

He was reared in South Bend where he attended public school and graduated from LaSalle High School. He worked as a Support Staff Leader at Broadway Christian Parish and also South Bend Foundry.

He and Judith Ann Watts were married in November, 2001. Survivors include two daughters, Ivorie Duke, Salinas, CA and Dominique Briggs (Calvin Sr..), Norfolk, VA; two stepdaughters, Ariel Watts and Angel Washington; five sons, Robbie Joseph Duke, Alonzo Duke, Timothy Duke, Christopher Duke and Dante Duke; one stepson, Walter Archer, all of South Bend; six grandchildren, Makayla Taylor, Irene Aquirae, Calvin Briggs Jr., Robbie Joseph Duke Jr., Deandrea Washington and Leon Burnett; two great grandchildren, Shymiah Archer and Waltionna Archer; his mother, Irene (Neely) Duke, all of South Bend; sisters, Candy Neely (Robert Evans), Mishawaka, Beverly Duke (Harold Graves), Ashley Reynolds and Patricia Reynolds; two brothers, Adrian Reynolds and Aaron Reynolds, all of South Bend, along with other relatives and friends.

Family members who preceded him in death include a son, Robert Joseph Duke Jr.; a stepson, Glen Washington Jr.; his father, Robert Joseph Reynolds; a sister, Regina Knights; and a brother, Johnnie King Duke Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. Robert Joseph Duke will be held on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 1:00 p.m., at Alford's Mortuary where arrangements have been entrusted. Interment will follow in Mt.
