Linda K. Gordon

Linda K. Gordon, 59, of Tally Ho Drive, in South Bend, Indiana, entered into eternal rest at 11:28 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2011, in her residence surrounded by family. "Kay-Kay" as she was affectionately known, was born on June 17, 1952, in South Bend, Indiana, to the union of James Williams Sr. and Willie Mae (Ferrell) Williams.

Linda was a lifelong resident and she was educated in the South Bend Community School Corporation. She attended Central High School and graduated from LaSalle High School in 1970.

Linda was employed by the University of Notre Dame South Dining Hall for 24 years as a Cook II. Among her hobbies, Linda was an avid bowler in the bowling league. Linda's passion was cooking. She loved trying new recipes and "perfecting it to her taste." She was an outgoing person who loved to help others in need.

Linda leaves to mourn her passing a loving mother, Willie Mae Williams; loving husband, Larry G. Gordon Sr.; three daughters, Tanisha V. (Wesley) Harris, Lori J. Gordon and Jernell Brown; one stepdaughter, Porsha Gordon; two sons, Larry G. Gordon Jr. and Terrence L. Gordon Sr.; 20 grandchildren, Terrence L. Jr., Tiara, Taja, Jasmine, Larry III, Wesley Jr., Devante, Delano, Tyshawn, Idaja, Quintin, Quin'Shawn, Jamon, Katherine, Jennifer, Jaylen, Starr, Aries, Destiny and Aniya; one great-granddaughter, Terran; three sisters, Deborah J. (L.T.) Hunt, Dottie Ann Williams and Sharon A. (Thomas) Johnson, all of South Bend, Indiana; two brothers, Dennis C. (Gale) Williams of South Holland, Illinois, and Ronnie D. (Robin) Williams of South Bend; mother-in-law, Bertha Moore; two brothers-in-law, David (Elizabeth) Gordon of St. Lucia, Florida, and Danny Lawrence of Montgomery, Alabama; two sisters-in-law, Pearley Lawrence and Yolanda Parchman of South Bend; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceding Linda in death were her father, James Williams Sr.; brother, James Williams Jr.; nephew, Ronnie D. Williams Jr.; great-nephew, Quinton L. Jones; and grandparents-in-law, Daniel Howard and Myrtle Howard.

We would like to extend special thanks to her brother, our uncle, Ronnie Williams Sr.; two sisters-in-law; our aunts, Pearley Lawrence and Robin Williams. Also, favorite niece and cousin, Kimberley Jones, for being encouraging, supportive and for being that "shoulder to cry on" when needed. We thank you and love you.

Services for Linda K. Gordon will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2011, at St. Matthew's Church, 2707 Marquette Boulevard. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and then services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Visit our website at www.clarkoneal.com to sign her guestbook.
