DECARLO HOCKADAY

July 15, 1974 - June 8, 2010
SOUTH BEND - DeCarlo Hockaday, 35, passed away on Tuesday, June 8th. DeCarlo was born on July 15, 1974, to Donna L. Morgan and Michael J. Hockaday, who both survive him. DeCarlo was known by many names: "Bear" by his close family, "Los" by his friends, and "Uncle Richard Larnell" by his nieces. He was baptized at an early age and attended St. Augustine Catholic Church.

DeCarlo was a 1993 graduate of LaSalle High School and attended Ivy Tech.

He was a loving father of five children, Teshiah, DeCarlo Jr., Temyrah and China, all of South Bend, and DeCayla of Milwaukee. DeCarlo also leaves behind his grandparents, Ruby and James Hockaday of South Bend, and Gertrude Morgan of Chicago. Also surviving DeCarlo are his siblings, Yolanda Hockaday-Dennis (Bryan) of Kokomo, Charice Hockaday "Best Friend" of South Bend and Sidney Hockaday of Indianapolis; his favorite cousin, Nicole Tyler "Squeek," who he called his little sister; and special friends/brothers, Isaiah Wheeler, Joey Newsome and Jeremiah Newsome. DeCarlo also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who all loved him and will cherish his memory.

Funeral services will be held in the Cobb Funeral Home, 3525 S. Michigan St., on Monday, June 14, at 2 p.m., with visitation starting at noon. Rev. Canneth Lee will officiate the services.
