Sharon Marie Black Hoffman

Sharon Marie Black Hoffman, 46, died at Memorial Hospital in South Bend on Sunday, October 22, 2006. Sharon was born on May 9, 1960 to Raymond J. and Betty Jo (Scott) Black.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Jo (1965) and her brother-in-law Jay Smith (2006).

She is survived by her son, David J. Hoffman, Jr., her daughters, Samantha R. Hoffman and Amanda E. Hoffman, and her grandson, Cade Nicholas Hoffman. She is further survived by her parents, Ray and Anne Black, seven sisters: Mary Rose Smith of Mundelein, IL; E. Jean (Tom) Morrell of Port Washington, WI; Margie (Walt) Deacon of West Lafayette, IN; Patty (Ken) Noble of South Bend; Paula (Pat) Loria of Killingworth, CT; Carol (Rafael) Vargas of Marietta, GA; and Jenine (Don) Ward of Murfreesboro, TN; and her former husband, David J. Hoffman of South Bend.

She was a favorite aunt to 22 nieces and nephews and best buddy to Lucy, her beloved cat. Sharon graduated from LaSalle High School in 1979. She was an account executive at Siemens Shared Services, LLC. She was a gifted home decorator and specialized in wallpapering. She also excelled at many arts and crafts. She especially enjoyed her get togethers with her MR Falcons friends. Sharon was a caring friend to so many and was loved by all she met. She will be deeply missed.

Sharon's family wishes to express its sincere gratitude to the wonderful nurses, doctors, and staff at Memorial Intensive Care. Sharon was a member of Corpus Christi Parish.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 27, 2006, in Corpus Christi Church. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 until 9 p.m. Thursday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a trust fund for Sharon�s children has been established.
