BARBARA JEAN MALONE-JONES


April 26, 1953 - Nov. 4, 2011 SOUTH BEND - Barbara Jean Malone-Jones, 58, loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece and dear friend, who resided in Arizona, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2011, from an extended illness. Barbara was born on April 26, 1953, to the union of Coy S. and Evelyn R. Malone in South Bend, Indiana.

She attended Linden Elementary and LaSalle High School. She was a great singer as well as a musician.

Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn R. (Plump) Malone; her son, Elvis Jones; her brother, Terry Malone; maternal grandparents, Willie and Hattie Plump; paternal grandparents, Elvis and Velma Malone; and grandfather, Wade Mullins.

Survivors left to cherish her memory include her father, Elder Coy (Thelma) Malone of South Bend; three sons, Assid, Abdul-el Abdul Abdul-Kawee and Nathaniel Jones, both of Minnesota, and Nathaniel Peter Jones; two daughters, Aieshah Jordan of Arizona and Mary Jones of Minnesota; six sisters, Sandra L. (Juan Sr.) Simpson, Lena Malone, Eva (Aaron) Sconiers, Penelope Malone, Evelyn (Aaron) Gills, all of South Bend, and Caroline Cousette of Minnesota; four stepsisters, Joanne (Eric) Baker, Patricia (Lonnie) Dubose, Loree Blackmon and Gail (Howard) Dukes; two brothers, Troy (Wanda) Malone and Tony Malone, all of South Bend; 11 grandchildren; special aunties, Beatrice Wilcox, Mary Louise Joy, Mary Buggs, Linda Smith and Janice (Terry) Smith; a special family friend, Mattie Malone; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2011, at Pentecostal Cathedral Church of God in Christ. Visitation will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
