CASSANDRA MARIE PRICE

Mrs. Cassandra Marie Price, 70, was called home on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Beacon Memorial Hospital of South Bend. She was born on September 9, 1951 in South Bend, Indiana and was the second oldest of seven children born to the union of Barnabia and Fannie Mae Jones.

On October 4, 1969, Cassandra was united in marriage to Jerry Price, Sr.; They had three beautiful children and together they nurtured and loved them through everything.

Cassandra graduated in 1970 from LaSalle High School. She attended Davenport College and IvyTech College where she was awarded a certification in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management. Well known for her excellent cooking skills, she was employed in the food service industry for many years. Those employers include Jameson Inn, Madison Center, Hilton Garden Inn, and most recently, Martins Super Markets. Cassandra took pride in her cooking skills and fed many people including family, friends, customers and strangers. Her compassion and dedication for feeding the hungry is one of the many notable things that she will be remembered for.

Cassandra loved to read and watch movies especially science fiction and adventure. She also enjoyed bargain hunting at the Goodwill and was skilled at finding really good deals. She loved doing her hair and enjoyed dying it different colors. Cassandra had the biggest heart for others and she brought positivity into the lives of everyone that was privileged to interact with her.

Cassandra leaves to cherish her loving memory, her high school sweetheart and husband of 52 years, Jerry; two sons, Jerry Price Jr. and James (Chavela) Price; one daughter, Yuganda Price, all of South Bend, IN; eight grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; three sisters, Shannon (William) Fong, Charmaine Jones and Tanyar Whitfield; three brothers Barnabia Jones Jr., Terry (Lisa) Jones, Tois Jones Sr, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other loved ones and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her mother and father -in-law, Georgia and James Price and a brother-in-law, Richard Whitfield.

Cassandra, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew her.
