JAMES T. WASHINGTON

Dec. 30, 1968 - May 4, 2012 MISHAWAKA - Mr. James Thadeus Washington Sr., 43, who resided on Trenton Court, Mishawaka, IN, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2012. James was born December 30, 1968, to Catherine Virginia Washington in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Coming from Vicksburg, he moved to South Bend.

He graduated from LaSalle High School and his employment history included the stock department at Big Lots, cooking at Popeye's Chicken, and the catering department at the University of Notre Dame. He attended Northside Baptist Church and his passions were cooking, roller skating and collecting cars.

James was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Washington, and a nephew, Brian Bernard Pope Jr.

Survivors left to cherish his memory include one daughter, Barbara Jean Washington of Texas; one son, James Washington Jr. of Noblesville, Indiana; two grandchildren; two sisters, Renee (Richard) Burton and Yolanda Washington, both of South Bend; one brother, Larry Washington of Detroit, Michigan; his fiancée, Tiffany Hall; his fiancée's parents, James & Cheryl Hall, all of Elkhart, Indiana; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services for Mr. James T. Washington Sr. will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Alford's Mortuary, with viewing occurring from 11 a.m. to noon at Alford's Mortuary. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary, where messages of condolence maybe e-mailed to Alfordsmortuary@att.net, c/o the Washington family.
