Lamont Anthony Williams Oct. 11, 1965 - Jan. 7, 2015 HOUSTON, TX - Lamont Anthony Williams, fondly known as "Big Mont", 49, of Houston, Texas, (formerly of South Bend, Indiana, and Jensen Beach, Florida), unexpectedly went home to be with his Master and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 7, 2015. He was beloved husband, father, brother, son, uncle, nephew, cousin, co-worker and friend. He was born October 11, 1965, in South Bend, Indiana, to Reverend Sylvester Williams Jr. and the late Dr. Sis. Wanda (Preston) Williams, both who resided in South Bend.

Lamont was a member of Interfaith Christian Union and the oldest son in the WUBS 89.7 FM radio family. Lamont accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. He was an avid reader of the Bible while walking and trusting in the Lord.

He attended Brown Middle School in South Bend, Brethren Christian School in Osceola, then LaSalle High School in South Bend, where he graduated in 1984. He attended Indiana University in Bloomington, where he was a regular at Teterboro Quad and ruled the intramural basketball courts with his team, the EZ Wide Rollers. He was known for his loud and joyous laugh that no one could forget.

In 1991, he wed Penny (Koenig) Williams, and was then blessed with two sons, Noah A. Williams of Indiana Purdue in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Micah H. Williams of Coastal Bend College in Beeville, Texas.

He worked for several years at AM General, maker of the Humvee in Mishawaka, and was proud to be a UNION man!

He was preceded in death by his mother, the late Dr. Wanda Williams; his grandparents, Sylvester Sr. and Janie Williams, and Henry and Maggie Preston.

Lamont leaves to forever cherish his memory wife, Penny Williams; two sons, Noah and Micah Williams; father, Reverend Sylvester Williams, Jr. of South Bend, IN; brothers, Shawn D. Williams of Houston, TX, and Shane R. (Cara) Williams of South Bend, IN; nieces, Breah and ReShana Williams; two nephews, Shane R. Williams II and Jacob Wahlen, all of South Bend, IN. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, numerous cousins, a great-niece, and a great-nephew, and a plethora of friends from all walks of life.

Home-going funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at the Pentecostal Cathedral Church of God In Christ, located at 1025 West Western Avenue, South Bend, Indiana 46601. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary. www.alfordsmortuaryinc.com
