Ralph Edward Wright - Class Of 1976 VIEW PROFILE

RALPH EDWARD WRIGHT

Mr. Ralph Edward Wright, Sr., 63, was born in South Bend, Indiana on April 4, 1958 to the union of Yvonne and the late George Wright. He was a lifelong resident of South Bend and was educated in the South Bend Community system and graduated from the former LaSalle High School in 1976.

He proudly served the Country and enlisted in the United States Air Force. He completed his Tour of Duty in 1983 and received an Honorable Discharge. He was the youngest airplane crew chief in his unit.

Ralph passed away from his earthly home on Saturday, November 6, 2021; his loving family was by his side. Ralph, son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend was a man with a deep love for family.

He was a man of many talents and was best known for his excellence in painting cars and body work. He started painting cars at the age of 16. He once took an El Camino and put an engine in it, painted it and drove it back to the Air Force base in Mountain Home, Idaho. He was intelligent and gifted with his hands and did carpentry, plumbing, electrical and anything he put his mind to. He had his ups and downs in life but loved his family. His children and grandchildren were his heart: he loved them and they loved him. He would often been seen around town on his scooter sometimes with his grandson, Elijah in tow. It was believed that he maybe changed the motor in the scooter because it went so fast.

Ralph leaves to cherish his loving memory, his children, Chanel (Marlon) Phillips, Aaron Wright (Karen Behm), Ralene (Everett) Sabine, Quiana Wright, Erica Person, Ralph Person, Natasha Wright and J'Vonde Whitmore; 16 grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Yvonne Wright; sisters, Makini (Sam) Hammond and Donna M. Wright; brothers, Elliott (Diane) Callahan and George (Doris) Wright; his significant other, Sandra Bishop and her children, LaQuann Easton and Shira Easton; a special nephew, Tyreese Guiden, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and close friends.

Along with his father George Wright, Ralph was also preceded in death by a stepson, Dallas Easton and good friends, Tolies Word and Alphonso Smith.

We will miss that gruff voice, caring and complex soul. We already miss his presence. Rest easy Ralph. We love you and God loves you more. We will see you on the other side.
