David J. Czarnecki, 71, of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 8:29 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2023, in Memorial Hospital.  David was born on May 7, 1951 in South Bend to Leo J. and Marie A. (Maternowski) Czarnecki.  He retired in 2007 from the South Bend Wastewater Treatment Plant.  On May 12, 1973 he married Mary Beth Karczewski, who survives.  David is also survived by his two sons, Adam Czarnecki and Daniel (Melissa) Czarnecki both of South Bend, Indiana; two grandsons, Tyler and Leo; two sisters, Leanne (Tom) DeLater and Mary Czarnecki both of South Bend, Indiana; his brother, Bill (Susie) Czarnecki of Bremen, Indiana; and his sister-in-law, Jackie Czarnecki. David was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Mark.  A Catholic Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 16, 2023 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana.  A rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral service.  David enjoyed fishing, his morning coffee, but most of all, spending time with his grandsons. David also loved to complain!!!  Memorial Contributions may be directed the charity of the donor’s choice
