Gerald Raymond Leyba, 53, passed away on Friday, September 14, 2018, at his residence in South Bend, IN. He was born on July 24, 1965 in South Bend to Benedict R. and Elsie M. Leyba.
On May 31, 1992 in South Bend, Gerald married the former Donna M. Jackson, who survives. In addition to his mother and his wife, Gerald is survived by two daughters, Theresa Diane Leyba of Muncie, IN, and Gina Marie Leyba of South Bend; and four brothers, Michael (Josh Patrick) Leyba of Ft. Myers, FL; Bernard Leyba of Venice, FL; John Leyba of South Bend; and James (Angelique) Leyba of South Bend. Gerald was preceded in death by his father as well as a brother, Benedict Leyba.
Gerald proudly served in the United States Army. He was employed as a bricklayer in commercial construction.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00-7:00pm on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Palmer Funeral Homes—Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN. There will be an additional gathering of family and friends from 3:00-7:00pm on Saturday, September 22nd at Army & Navy Union, 1121 W. Western Avenue, South Bend, IN.
