Robert John Kot, of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, died of a sudden illness on July 14, 2023, at Memorial Medical Center, in Las Cruces, New Mexico, at the age of 71.
He was born to Carl Joseph Kot and Loretta H. (Neidbolski) Kot on March 15, 1952, in South Bend, Indiana, the third of six children. He was predeceased by his parents and a younger sister, Mary Kot.
He leaves behind a spouse, Ella Sanders Kot, and four siblings - Carol Ogden of Granger, Indiana, Elizabeth Webb of Buena Vista, Colorado, Katherine Radican of South Bend, Indiana and Thomas Kot of Tucson, Arizona; as well as, a niece and two nephews, two grand-nieces and two grand-nephews.
Bob graduated from La Salle High School in South Bend, in 1970. He had hoped to attend his 50th reunion, but the pandemic caused it to be cancelled. He attended Purdue University and soon after, moved to Tucson, Arizona where he worked most of his career.
He was an accomplished musician, his favorite instrument the piano. And also, an avid wind surfer for most of his adult life. His wife commented, 'Bob could windsurf better than he could walk!'
He had some wonderful adventures in his life, including a summer long motorcycle tour of the country with his brother Tom, a rafting trip down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon, and hiking the country's high peaks in several states including Mt. Whitney in the Sierras of California.
His gentle nature and quiet demeanor will be greatly missed.
