Jewel Evan Scott Sr, 58, made his transition from life on earth into eternity on Friday, October 27, 2023. Jewel was born on April 20, 1965 to the union of Barbara J. Douglas and Kenneth G. Scott, both who preceded him in death.

Jewel was educated through South Bend Community School Corporation and attended Lasalle High School. Jewel briefly worked for Jordan Ford. He was self-employed for the majority of his life. Jewel, nicknamed Toe Joe and Big House by his loved ones, was known by many people in the South Bend community. He loved spending time with his family and friends and could always put a smile on your face. He welcomed everybody with open arms and never said no to anyone in need. Before transitioning, Jewel accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour and asked for forgiveness of his sins.

Left to remember the good times and celebrate his life are his sons, Jewel Scott Jr (Aubri Singh) and Tayahn Scott of South Bend; two daughters, Crystal Seward, of South Bend and Yvonne “NaeNae” Reaves of Daytona, FL; grandchildren, Elijah Scott, Jasiah Scott, Sha’Nia and TeCoreyae Groves and DeAndre Franklin, of South Bend, IN; four brothers; Charles Douglas of South Bend, IN, Kenneth (Lorraine) Scott Jr of Sioux Falls, SD; Lamont (Maurica)Williams, of South Bend, IN, Clifford Bonds of Indianapolis; IN; three sisters, Gail Douglas, Kimberly Scott and Ramona White of South Bend IN; special friend and mother of his children Tammy Keys; and three bonus children Tiara “Teedaboo” Jones, Ashley Marbley and Vance Ellison; bonus brother Terrell (Rell D) Jones. Jewel also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Elizabeth and Kinnon Scott, maternal grandparents, Eugene Williams and Nancy Pope; niece Davina Moore; bonus son Chanudra “CJ” Johnson; brother in law, George Smith; sister-in-law Mary Hardin; and daughter-in-law, Chanel Neal.
