Shirley J. (Ruth) Neff

Mrs. Shirley Jean (Ruth) Neff, 31, of Buchanan, Mich., passed away after an extended illness on Wednesday morning, Jan. 6, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center.

She was born on April 24, 1967, in South Bend, Ind., to Barbara (Barrett) and Richard Ruth. She was preceded in death by her son Nicholas, and by her mother and father.

On Aug. 14, 1993, in Buchanan, she married Eric Neff, who survives. She is also survived by her stepdaughter, Dawn Neff of Niles; son, Caleb Neff of Buchanan; her sister, Patricia Inman of Decatur, Mich.; and brothers, Robert Ruth of South Bend and John Ruth of Mishawaka, Ind.

Shirley worked for Damon Industries of Elkhart, Ind,, before her illness. She was a graduate from LaSalle High School, and was a former player at the Chet Waggoner Little League. She also belonged to the Osceola American Legion Auxiliary.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m on Saturday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street. Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery. Friends are invited to call from 4 to 8 pm today in the funeral home Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society..
