Karen M. Hudelmyer

May 1, 1955 - May 19, 2024

Karen M. Hudelmyer of Elkhart passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024 in St. Joseph Medical Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka following an illness. She was born on May 1, 1955 in South Bend to the late Dean and Caroline (Rudnicki) Hudelmyer, and was 69 years-old at the time of her death.

She lived in the area her entire life and was truly one of the sweetest people you could ever meet. Karen loved life and all the things with it. She whole-heartedly loved everyone and literally had to hug them all. Her favorite phrases that she was widely known for were “fine and dandy, just like candy” and “keep on smiling,” which she was constantly doing.

Karen is survived by one brother Michael Hudelmyer of Mishawaka; her cousins, Debra Patton (Patrick), John Rudnicki, Douglas Rudnicki (Livia), Kim Marsden (Andy), Mark Geoffrey (Rose) and David Geoffrey (Lori); her long-time guardian Vesta Gieracz of Mishawaka; and her long-term caregiver Penny Hostetler of Cassopolis, MI. She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister Judy; and her Canadian family whom she loved very much, Aunt Helen (Don) and Uncle Walt.

Cremation has occurred and a Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 EDT Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at the Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel.
