Richard Lee Brown, Sr.
September 8, 1960 ~ November 18, 2024 (age 64)
It is with a humorous twinkle in our hearts that we say goodbye to Richard Brown Sr., a man who was as compassionate as he was funny, as ambitious as he was courageous. Born on September 8, 1960, in South Bend, IN, Richard lived a life that was filled with laughter, surprises, and, yes, a fair share of mischief. They say that a man is measured by the company he keeps, and Richard kept the very best. He was a man who loved people, and people, in turn, loved Richard.
Richard went to Lasalle High School class of 1978 where he was on the wrestling team After High School, he went to the Military. After his military service, where he was honored with the Air Force Training Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, and Outstanding Unit Award, he also went to work for Eaton, AM General, and South Bend Housing Authority where retired and spent his time being a wonderful father and a dependable friend. He loved his music and used to DJ in the 80s at local bars and clubs. You did not touch his chess board if you did not know how to play. Richard was a man of many talents and truly will be missed. As mentioned in Proverbs 17:22, "A joyful heart is good medicine", but a crushed spirit dries up the bones, and Richard was just that - good medicine to all who knew him.
