David Anthony Winston, better known to many as Rapper David Winston, was born on March 11, 1965, in South Bend, Indiana, USA. He lived a vibrant life that sadly came to an end on November 3, 2024.
David, an individual of exceptional spirit and creativity, was an emblem of courage, resilience, and passion. As the eminent Maya Angelou once said, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." This quote encapsulates David's life, as he touched countless lives with his music, generosity, and unyielding spirit.
David grew up in South Bend and was a beloved member of the community. He believed that love is the greatest gift one can give to another, and he spent his life spreading love, joy, and positivity through his music. His artistic prowess was not limited to his rap career; he was also a mentor and inspiration to young and aspiring artists in South Bend and beyond. David's life was a testament to his belief that "The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well." - Ralph Waldo Emerson.
David is survived by his four loving children, Davetta Hasan, David Jr., Daryl, and Deanna Winston; his sister, Carol Winston; his brother, Larry Winston; his nephews, Charles, Micheal Jr., and Charles Jr.; and his great-nieces and nephews, Azalea Rogers, Angel, Lyran, Macala, Micheal Jr., Charles Jr., and Elijah Winston.
He is preceded in death by his father, Alvin Sr., his mother, Lavonda Neely, and his brothers, Alvin Jr., Charles, Ricky, and Daryl Winston. His nieces, Chevell and Lavonda Winston, also preceded him in death.
David's memory will live on in the hearts of all those who knew him. His legacy will be remembered and cherished forever.
