The Man, the Myth, the Legend- Jimmie Lee Dozier, 70, was born March 1st, 1955 in Tiptonville, TN to the union of William Henry Dozier Sr. and June Evelyn Glasper-Dozier. Jimmie finished his race at 3:41 am on March 28th, 2025. “Three scores and 10 refers to 70 years, my job here is done”, is the phrase he used on his 70th birthday. Referring to Psalms 90 versus 10, “Seventy years are given to us! Some even live to eighty. But even the best years are filled with zpain and trouble; soon they disappear, and we fly away.”

Education, Hobbies, Interest & Marriage- Jimmie was a charismatic hardworking man of many words and many hats! During his school years Jimmie attended South Bend schools where he went on to graduate high school in 1974 from LaSalle High School. After high school Jimmie went on to become a dedicated person who wanted to fight for his country. Jimmie joined the Army and served between 1975 to 1979. After his mission to serve was complete he furthered his education attending college at Phillips Business College receiving his degree in 1982. Jimmie has worked construction jobs as well as jobs in the social services field. His last employment was working as a Facilities Team Member at Hope Ministries from 2015-2022. So charismatic Jimmie met and married the love of his life Karen Frances Green- Dozier on his birthday; March 1st in 1991. To their joining a bonus daughter Stephanie Green and his two beautiful daughters Kelsey McGhee and Lacey Dozier were born. He often referred to them as Daughters 1 and 2. - Jimmie was an interesting man. He enjoyed fishing, listening to music; grabbing a liking to Earth, Wind, and Fire, he enjoyed watching Westerns and other movies, naming “The Patriot” as one of his favorites, he also enjoyed writing.

Preceding in Death & Leaving to Cherish His Memory- Jimmie is reunited in the glory of eternity with his mother and father, William Henry Sr. and June Dozier, his wife Karen Dozier, his brother Charles Dozier, In-Laws Mona and Mark Green, Sister-in-laws Linda Meister and Carrie McNamara. Leaving to cherish his memories are his two daughters Kelsey (LaRon) McGhee and Lacey Dozier, bonus daughter Stephanie Green, six grandsons Bryce McGhee, Brayden McGhee, Zakai Johnson, Bryant McGhee, Zyaire Johnson, and Zyon Johnson all of South Bend, IN, nine siblings, Marion June (Willie) Davis of Columbus, GA, Joann Bridgeman of South Bend, IN, William Henry (Eva) Dozier Jr. of Huntsville, AL, Alvin (Leaneze) Dozier of Ocala, FL, Linda (Roy) Dozier- Slaughter of Decatur, IL, Michael Wayne Dozier of Decatur, IL, Wanda Jean Dozier, Debra Denise Dozier, and Sheila Marie Dozier all of South Bend, IN; Sister-In-Laws Sheila Green Knoblich, Debbie Green Snyder and Connie Green Hollar and a host of relatives.

Celebration of Life- A Memorial Service will be held at 3:30 PM April 4, 2025 at Laymen Chapel CME Church, 303 S. Kenmore St South Bend, IN. Please join us following the memorial at 1426 Main St, South Bend, IN 46613 as we celebrate the life of our beloved Jimmie Dozier.
