Mary Jane Liszewski VIEW PROFILE

Mary Jane Liszewski, 79, of Mill Creek, Indiana formerly of South Bend passed away on Monday, June 5, 2023. She was born July 20, 1943 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Ernest and Ann (Balogh) Liszewski. Mary Jane is survived by one sister, Judy Cepeda of Portage, Michigan, one nephew, Darin Cepeda of Leander, Texas, and a cousin, Gary Kush of South Bend, Indiana.

Mary Jane was a 4th grade Elementary School Teacher with the South Bend Community School Corporation, teaching at Wilson and Warren Elementary Schools. After retirement, she liked to keep in touch with her students, their parents, and fellow teachers. Mary Jane considered them part of her family. She also took time to visit homebound friends.

Mary Jane liked to travel with her sister Judy. They sailed on the Queen Mary II, visited Denall National Park in Alaska and Maui, Hawaii. Mary Jane liked to decorate her home for every Holiday. She also loved collectibles from Longaberger Baskets to Santa Claus figures. Mary Jane liked to smile, laugh and had a great sense of humor.

Kaleidoscope Services and Robin’s Nest are grateful to have had the opportunity to provide services and care for Mary Jane in her best, last years!

A visitation for Mary Jane will be held on Monday June 12, 2023 at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 55756 Tulip Rd., New Carlisle, IN 46552 from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:00 pm in the church. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Services of Northern Indiana, 922 E. Colfax Ave, South Bend, IN 46617 or Caring Cove Hospice, 3120 N. Home St., Mishawaka, IN 46545 in Mary Jane’s honor.
